Gas Welding Nozzle

In MIG/MAG welding, the friction of the advancing wire causes wear on the contact nozzle. As a result, the size and position of the contact surface changes. As a result of this, there are effects that distort the welding parameters. nozzle Contec greatly reduces these consequences of abrasion against the process.

Users benefit from high process stability and system availability, especially in robotic processes. The geometry of the contact nozzle is shaped so that the surface contacting the wire is as large as possible and as small as necessary. On the one hand, the large surface size ensures a stable current flow. On the other hand, premature wire melting as a result of frictional heat generation is prevented. In this way, extended life and efficient flow are provided. The joint consists of two elements in the form of conical half nozzle parts. The welding current passes from these elements to the welding wire divided into two paths. The adjustable spring force exerts pressure on the advancing wire and both parts. Thus, the material of the pipe system only rubs against the circular contact areas at the front of the half nozzle pieces during welding. With this new technology, which has a service life up to 7 times higher than conventional contact nozzles, material utilisation is only about one fifth of that of conventional contact nozzles. The wire drive unit removes worn particles from the nozzle, thus avoiding forced downtime due to sticking. The new contact nozzle is suitable for all additional welding wire diameters in normal steel and aluminium.
